Yavapai College operates two art galleries, the Prescott Art Gallery and the Verde Art Gallery. Both maintain a diverse range of visual art exhibitions featuring nationally recognized artists and emerging artists alike, providing opportunities for the presentation of art in all media.
The Prescott Art Gallery is located within the Performing Arts Center on the Yavapai Campus in Prescott, Arizona. This is an attractive space with high ceilings and 1792 sq/ft of exhibition space with a moveable wall system and LED track lighting.
The Verde Art Gallery is located on the Verde Valley campus in Clarkdale, Arizona. This gallery has a variable height ceiling with track lighting and is 900 sq/ft.
Both galleries are easily accessible and visited by many students, community members and out of town visitors.

Yavapai College Prescott Art Gallery is pleased to invite art students to participate in the 2025 Fall Juried Student Exhibition. This exhibition offers Yavapai College students the valuable experience of engaging with the submission and jury process, as well as the opportunity to showcase their artwork in a professional fine art gallery. Participants will receive recognition for their achievements from established professionals within the field.

JUROR: Matthew Cory (www.matthewrcory.com)
- Matthew R. Cory, hailing from the Pacific Northwest, draws creative influence from philosophy, music, nature, technology, and his family background. He is an accomplished poet, musician, artist, and designer, as well as a dedicated husband and father of three.
- Cory held a solo show at Yavapai College Art Gallery. Matthew creates acrylic paintings and figure drawings that explore interactions, whether between humans and animals or abstract and natural forms. He combines metaphysics, philosophy, nature, and humour to engage and inspire viewers.
ELIGIBILITY:
All YC art students currently or recently enrolled (within the past two semesters) in credit or non-credit courses are eligible. Each student may submit up to two entries. Previously submitted but not exhibited artwork can be resubmitted. Enter the professional category if you have over 5 years of experience as a practicing artist. Professional experience includes exhibiting or selling art in galleries, teaching art, joining studio tours, participating in national or regional juried shows, receiving awards, and having art in public collections.
The YC Art Gallery retains 25% commission on all sold artwork.
Submission Instructions:
- Go to: www.yc.edu/v6/art-galleries/ and select “Call for Artists: Submit to Prescott Art Gallery”
- Register using your YC student email and password, then follow the instructions. For assistance, contact the Art Gallery, and we can help with registration or resetting your email/password if you already have an account with Submittable.
- When submitting, you will need to know the Title, Media, Dimensions, Category of Entry, and Price of work or Not for Sale.
- Students can submit up to 2 artworks and two photos of work. Images must be JPEG and no larger than 5MB. Photos should be titled: LastName_FirstName_Title.
- After submitting, you will receive a reply email if your submission was successful.
SUBMISSION WORKSHOP:
The workshop will be held one week before the open submission period and will be conducted by appointment only. Art Gallery: 928.776.203
- AWARDS: People's Choice Award and $500 Dean's Prize will be given to outstanding emerging artwork in the Juried Student Exhibition. Awards will be announced at 5 p.m. during the event.
- Emerging Artists: $250 Plein Air Festival Prize for Best of Show 2D & 3D Artwork
- Professional/Emerging Artists: $50 Gallery Prize for each category: First Place in various categories including Ceramics, Digital Media, Digital Photography, Drawing, Jewelry, Lapidary, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video, and Woodworking.
Guidelines for Accepted Artwork for Exhibition
Artwork chosen for exhibition may be photographed by the college for publication or educational purposes.
- Wall artwork should not exceed 35 - 40 lbs. If the artwork exceeds the weight limit, gallery staff may ask for assistance to help install it.
- Digital artworks will be displayed on monitors for exhibition.
- 2D artwork including charcoal, pastel, & printmaking, must be framed and wired (ready-to-hang). All other hanging devices, such as sawtooth, are not acceptable.
- 3D artwork must be ready for installation, a finished presentation. Including felt or rubber feet that come in contact with the pedestal.
- Artwork Pickup: If students do not pick up their artwork within 60 days (2 months), it will be automatically donated to the YC Art Gallery and become the property of the gallery.
- Artificial Intelligence Policy: Artists must inform the gallery of artworks that make use of generative AI. All artworks must comply with the definition of plagiarism in the Yavapai College Student Code of Conduct.
Call to Artists | Public Art
Yavapai College is excited to announce the opportunity for an installation of public art on the Verde Valley Campus. We invite artists, designers, and creative teams to submit proposals that will beautify and transform public space on campus.
Project Goals:
- To enhance public spaces with original, high-quality art that fosters community engagement and dialogue.
- To create an accessible and visually striking art installation that attracts and inspires both students and visitors.

Requirements:
All Submissions must be made online with Submittable.com. Submission fee is $10.
This call is open to all professional artists, including individual artists, collaborative teams, and designers with experience in public art projects. It is preferred that the artist can be on-site for installation. The budget covers the artists costs, fabrication, materials, travel and accommodation for installation. Budget up to $1,000 available.
Requirements for Submission:
- Artist Statement & Concept Proposal: Provide a brief overview of your vision for the project, including conceptual themes, materials, and intended impact on the community.
- Portfolio: Include up to 10 examples of previous public art projects or relevant work.
- Design Renderings or Sketches: Provide detailed visual representations of your proposed artwork. This can include digital images, drawings, or mock-ups.
- Project Budget & Timeline: Submit a detailed budget outlining the estimated costs for materials, fabrication, installation, and any other expenses. Include a projected timeline for completion.
- References: List at least two professional references who can speak to your experience with public art or similar projects.
Selection Criteria:
- Artistic Merit: Innovation, creativity, and quality of design.
- Community Impact: Ability to engage and resonate with the diverse audience of the community.
- Feasibility: Suitability of the project for the selected site and its technical and logistical feasibility.
- Sustainability: Consideration of long-term durability and maintenance.
Submissions will be evaluated by Visual Arts Department Art Acquisition Committee on an ongoing basis.
Terms and Conditions
It is preferred that the artist can be on-site for installations with help of YC staff if needed. Artist is responsible for all costs related to installation, travel, accommodation, etc. Other arrangements can be made with the approval of gallery manager if the artist is unable to be available for installation. Artwork will be photographed by the college. YC reserves the right to reject works that were not properly prepared for installation. YC reserves the right to reject work that is deemed fragile or unstable.
